GTS Theatre is a Top 10 Winner consistently on Travel Advisor for “Things To Do” and has also won the Viator Award of Excellence since its inception.
“I absolutely LOVE this show. Singers that can REALLY sing!! The owners were very nice, cordial and very engaging. I tried to dance sitting down but did not work to well, LOL. My highlight, singing on stage> at the very end!!! Woo Hoooo. It was worth the drive. I was staying in North Myrtle Beach and I would take the drive again and again.”

Motor City Musical: A Tribute to Motown
All of their shows are stellar but the one that gets the most attention currently is called “Motor City Musical: A Tribute to Motown.” It’s been around since early last year and it has built an enthusiastic fan base comprised of both tourists and locals. Some of the audience come on a regular basis because GTS Theatre is known for changing things up and keeping their shows fresh. You’ll learn about Berry Gordy’s contribution to some of the most iconic music we know; he gave us Motown and with that came The Supremes, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5 and Aretha Franklin, just to name a few. The cast of “Motor City Musical” pays tribute to Motown in the best way possible: with their TALENT!
Aside from their tremendous talent, they are all so personable that you’ll feel like you know them by the end of the show. Some of them are locals while others are implants from other parts of the country such as the northeast and the west coast. The noteable frontman, Eddie Macon, engages us immediately with his strong, smooth timbre and high energy moves. Ariana Moore captivates the audience with her sexy moves while Monique Jones Burgess wows us with her wide range and gorgeous vocal quality. Kandice Moore brings us the sass of the divas of Motown with her playful banter and powerhouse voice. Christian Wright is a steadfast and talented tenor with major back-up vocal credits (Jennifer Nettles and Sara Evans to name a few) and David T. Morris comes to us from Los Angeles, CA where he spent a great deal of time working for Disney. Morris breathes fresh life into the show with his audience interaction and crooning. His range and versatility are impressive and his presence is larger than life.

David T. Morris: Blacque ‘N BluBlay
This larger than life quality that Morris brings to the Motown Show will also be infused in his own musical revue entitled “Blacque ‘N BluBlay” debuting Wednesday, August 23rd at 2:00 p.m. on the very same stage. Because of his international experience performing on both cruise ships and exciting stages on land, he brings GTS Theatre a fusion of songs from the American Songbook, the Rat Pack, and even some Rock ‘n Roll.

Although the exterior is modest, the exceptional talent and high energy of their shows make the trip here worth every penny. The interior is stylish without being pretentious, (just like the shows) and that adage, “don’t judge a book by its cover” truly pertains to this venue. Frankly, there is not a bad seat in the house; you can pay a little more for VIP seating in the front row or you can opt to sit elsewhere. Even sitting in the very back row, you won’t miss a thing because the stage is accessible no matter what.

Quick side note: you cannot beat the prices at the snack bar. Freshly popped popcorn is only $2.00 a box, soft drinks and water are $2.00 and candy is only $1.00. You can’t get that anywhere! The last time I went to the movies, I paid $7.00 for a small box of popcorn and $4.00 for candy. The snacks cost as much (if not more) than the movie. For those of us who are budget conscious but still like to have a good time, this is the spot.
